How many times per year is Adventure Cyclist magazine published?

Six times per year. The issues are: January/February, March/April, May/June, July/August, September/October, and November/December.

How can I get Adventure Cyclist magazine delivered to my home?

By becoming a member of Adventure Cycling Association. Join now.

Is there a separate subscription for the magazine without becoming a member?

No. You can only get Adventure Cyclist if you are a member of Adventure Cycling Association. As a member of Adventure Cycling, you receive benefits that equate to 36% of the cost of your membership. Due to this, 64% of your membership dues support our nonprofit mission and are tax deductible.

Is Adventure Cyclist available for viewing on mobile devices?

We have the latest issues of Adventure Cyclist available on the website for current members as downloadable PDF files. You need to log in to your My Adventure Cycling account to be able to download the full issues. You can create a My Adventure Cycling account if you have not done so already.

All mobile devices should have an application that can display PDF files, and if they do not, such an application should be available through the device's respective application market.

What is the content of Adventure Cyclist magazine?

Features are bicycle travel related, both domestic and international. Content also includes expert advice, gear reviews, riding companions, and news about the organization and the bicycling world.

Are special-feature editions of Adventure Cyclist magazine published?

Yes. Each year we publish our know-how extravaganza, the Cyclists Travel Guide (which includes the Touring Bike Buyers' Guide), as well as a Supported Touring and Events issue. In addition, we often publish issues that focus on alternative cycling machines and bicycling history.

How many pages is Adventure Cyclist magazine?

Adventure Cyclist is 76-pages per issue, with an enhanced cover, and "perfect bound" (like a book, it will have the name and issue information on the spine).

Is Adventure Cyclist's content available online?

Yes. More recent issues are available as PDFs on our Digital Adventure Cyclist page. Older material is available in the Publications Archive. Special online-only content can be found on the Online Features page.

Can anyone be published in Adventure Cyclist magazine?

Yes. Anyone can submit an article and/or photo(s) and possibly be selected for publication.

What is the best way to get published in Adventure Cyclist magazine?

Everyone who submits a story believes it is interesting and unique. While the experience may have been, the written story may not be. For it to be published, the story needs to stand out from the many other submissions. If it is poorly written or unorganized, has misspellings and other grammatical errors, or reads like daily entries in a diary, its chances of being published will be slim. Are back issues of Adventure Cyclist magazine available?

Does Adventure Cyclist magazine use a particular style guide or manual?

Yes. We generally rely on the recommendations provided by the The Chicago Manual of Style and Webster's Collegiate Dictionary to publish Adventure Cyclist. We do, however, reserve the right to use our own standards and styles that do not adhere to The Chicago Manual of Style when we deem it more appropriate for the content we are presenting.

What is a "My Adventure Cycling" account and why do I need one?

Creating a "My Adventure Cycling" account allows you to manage your Adventure Cycling Association account and mailing information, submit a trip to our Ride Registry, as well as offering more streamlined submittal of map corrections. It also provides access to members-only content. You will need an account to do most financial transactions such as becoming a member or signing up for a tour. 

Here are some of the features of a "My Adventure Cycling" account:

How do I create a "My Adventure Cycling" Account?

If you have given Adventure Cycling your email address, an account has already been created for you. You can set your password by entering your email address into the Forgot Password field.

To create a new account click on "My Account" at the top of the page or click on the "My Adventure Cycling" link and follow prompts.

What if I forgot my password?

You can reset your password by entering your email address into the Forgot Password field.

How do I log into the Adventure Cycling Forums?

Your username and password for discussion forums are unique to the forums. Your forum login information is separate from your My Adventure Cycling login information. However, to make things a bit easier, you can use the same email and password for both accounts. Please note: Your login information for the forums is not connected to your Adventure Cycling membership number.
