This ride takes you from West LA up fire roads into the Santa Monica Mountains, camping in Topanga State Park, and then you make your way down to the beach, giving you a mix of city, desert mountains, and ocean views and swims. This route starts and ends at Expo line light rail stations in West LA, for easy access from downtown or other parts of the city.
This route is about 15 miles on roads, and 20 miles on dirt fire roads and trails. Day one has the most challenging section that is a steady and at times steep climb for the first ~10 miles, while the rest of the route is more rolling up and down.
