The Cape Cod Pilgrimage route introduces riders to the exceptional cycling along Cape Cod and the south coast of Massachusetts. Beginning and ending in Boston*, the route starts with a 50 mile ferry ride across Massachusetts Bay to the tip of Cape Cod at Provincetown. From there, riders experience nearly 200 miles of bike paths, quiet back roads, coastal scenery, historic monuments and sites, shore birds and wildlife and a wide range of dining, snacking, shopping and lodging options when off the bike.
The region’s gentle coastal terrain means just under 9,000 feet of elevation over the 200 miles of riding. While there can be some rolling terrain, the highest point on the route is only 175 ft above sea level. The average elevation for the tour is just 40 ft above sea level.
