Went for a 2 hour ride in a downpour near Moscow ID. I'm used to getting drenched on the bike with my wind shell and cycling clothes. This time, with my new rain jacket, I stayed rain-free (did not buy the hood and did not need it), and yet felt like the cloth breathed away much of my sweat. Did not get chilled, felt really comfortable. Bought a small, on the advice the the sizes range on the larger size, that was perfect for me. I'm really happy with my purchase.
Way big - had to return

I'm usually a medium, but had to return same, as it was *way* too big. I tried to follow the sizing advice given in the guide, but the waist measurement was way out of line with the chest measurement. Which one to go by? We want shells to accommodate other clothing underneath, and this is always a challenge with cycling gear, as getting something to big acts like a kite. This was more like a parachute. The quality seemed excellent, and I look forward to trying another one, as many reviews have said they have excellent breath-ability.

This spring in Pennsylvania has been cold and wet and this jacket has effectively blocked the cold wind, rain, and occasional snow shower. After arriving home after a wet ride, my road bike had covered me with fine grit laid down by the highway department in icy conditions. I decided to wash and test the jacket by simply getting into the shower with it. After about 30 minutes in a warm shower, I was still dry, and the jacket looked like new.

In upstate NY there is no shortage of "weather" - rain, snow, fog - and it seems awfully dark half of the year. My new Transit jacket is a pleasure to put on in all of the above conditions. As a previous post indicates, trust the sizing guidance as the jacket has a generous cut (or maybe I run small.) Add the hood to complete the package.

I'm always nervous about purchasing clothes via e-mail but the sizing guidance for this jacket were spot on. Trust it! And I'm also always nervous about the first time out with any new bike equipment. But this jacket delivered: it stopped the cold air (weather is overcast with temps are in the upper 20's, lower 30's here in eastern Washington), it had enough ventilation to keep moisture from building up, and a friend commented that it was extremely visible when the headlights from his car hit the back of the jacket. I've ridden with it in a light drizzle and had no problems in staying dry from the precipitation. Glad I bought it and see many years of good use coming down the road. I'd recommend it to other serious cyclists. It's pricey, but worth the cost.

I've just had a gore Tex rain jacket with no frills which has saved me in freezing rain. I hate to put it on unless I'm totally miserable. The Transit jacket is fabulous. In Hawaii, we had torrential warm rain and this jacket worked well. I love the arm pit vents and the double zipper. Works to keep you cool and dry simultaneously. My husband purchased the Elite jacket which is definitely lighter and more compactible but much pricier. The hood worked well but I used a billed hat under it to keep my vision clear.

I bought my second Showers Pass jacket recently because I love the features of this jacket! I use this jacket for more than just wet, rainy rides. I also use it for winter riding. This jacket is bombproof! All I need is a base layer, jersey and jacket and I am good with temps as low as -9 degrees F. this year and last year! The first jacket lasted a good 10 years before I finally had to replace it. The new jacket is just as good as the old one. The graphics are a little different, but not a big deal. The breath-ability and warmth without bulk of this jacket is AMAZING! Plenty bright enough for riding in the traffic at night with its reflective stripping throughout. Pockets are huge and one improvement is a loop on the back to add a taillight if you want to. GREAT JACKET!!

As an urban bike commuter I love the bright yellow and wide reflective stripes. The generous cut is perfect for layering but not so loose that I can't wear it without. Excellent product!

I recently bought the Transit jacket to replace my well worn Tourist jacket. The Transit has some improvements over the Tourist: first, a better lining - no more white plastic coating to flake when the jacket starts to wear; and second, no more back snap flap to fiddle with. I never liked that feature on the Tourist, and I'm glad the Transit doesn't have it. Just the right weight to wear over a t shirt on cool, damp Fall days, or over warmer clothes when the temps really drop. My Tourist held up to daily commutes through 4 Seattle winters, and the Transit looks sturdy enough to last at least that long.
