Made of 3M Propore microporous fabric the O2 jacket employs a moisture barrier that is melded to a soft non-woven fabric. This hi-tech microporous fabric technology allows your body to breathe while repelling moisture as well as keeping you cool and dry. Lightweight at 5 oz, the O2 Jacket fits into its own stuff sack for easy storage in a bike bag. For a matching bottom, please see: O2 Rainwear Cycling Series Pants.

I've owned both the O2 pants and this O2 jacket for over 15 years. I've only had to replace the jacket once when I mishandled it and made a small rip in the arm part.
Light weight, VERY packable, absolutely breathable (air flow through and kept me cool), absolutely water proof this is my go-to rain product. I've bicycled on long trips and it never failed. Excellent product!

I bought this jacket for a self-supported Route 66 tour because it is lightweight, packed small, and is high visibility. Unfortunately, that is where the good qualities end. It DID NOT keep me dry...EVER! The worst experience was in early October. My son and I had left Tucumcari, NM the day before a rainstorm and cold front came through. It was near 100 degrees when we left Tucumcari. We stopped in the ghost town of Montoya for the night. The next morning, the temperature was 40 degrees and rainy. I put on an extra jacket under my rain suit for warmth, and I ended up SOAKING WET through ALL my layers of clothes - down to my skin. Because of the extremely limited services in that part of New Mexico, we had to set up our tent in a parking area in Newkirk, and hunker down for the rest of the day (after changing into dry clothes, of course).
Best bet for the money

I've had 3 of these. But then again, I've been boarder to boarder and coast to coast. I mean, how often do you need a rain jacket anyhow. Most of the time when we ride, it is HOT! Or HUMID! So who needs anything more than this. They definitely do not last forever. Mine has deteriorated over time, and they do not hold up well to being caught on a snag. But if that does happen, you will not start crying like you just ripped that $199 jacket. But for an occasional shower, these are a great buy. They block the wind very well and keep you dry! And they pack very well. I'd say about the size of a 24 oz. can of beer!

I needed a rain jacket I could wear in the summer months. This jacket does a good job of keeping me dry. Plus, it folds up small into a backpack or frame bag. The material is breatheable and the high vis yellow is easily seen by cars and other cyclists. The zipper seems made well enough to last a few years. For the price, this jacket can't be beat. Highly recommended. I usually wear a large, so I bought an XL. XL size fit me perfect.

Light and compact so I keep it in my bag all the time. Runs small so order one size larger than normal.

I used this jacket only very briefly in a short rain shower and it seemed to work well. However, definitely order one size larger than you normally wear. I am size small in everything and the small jacket was tight and very uncomfortable over the lightest jersey. I exchanged it for a medium and that was much better.
It does fold up nicely into a small pack.

I live in So. Fla. so the jacket was comfortable and light in the rain, Kept me dry. One suggestion. Would have been nice if they had installed at least on pocket on the side with a zipper.
Days of misty moisty rain handled nicely, and economically.

Even though we had days of endless drizzle (and a few healthy downpours) this jacket performed amazingly well. The perforated outer layer made it cool and comfortable. Paired with some nylon rain pants, I can't imagine you'd ever need anything more. But it is important to handle it carefully: it's some kind of non-woven material that doesn't look like it could handle a lot of abuse. Geet it tangled in your chain, for instance, and it would be toast...shredded toast.

Great value for the money! Packs up very light. My wife and I used these on our X-Washington ride June 2010. Kept dry in a 4 hour Seattle rainfall.

I've taken this jacket on more than one week long tour where I "might" need a rain jacket. It has held up very well, blocks the wind and rain just great and breathes. I did tear the sleeve slightly while pulling it on as it is made of a "paper like" material, but overall with a little care this jacket will hold up every bit as good as a higher priced one. I've ordered two for my friends. That tells ya how sasfisfied I am with it.

Most of the time, I don't need a "bomb-proof" rain jacket. For those circumstances, this jacket does its job well. It is a lot more comfortable than the plastic jackets, and I think that it weighs a bit less.
Obviously, for a long ride in a constant downpour, or for use day after day, I'd want something of higher durability, but this one saves both cost and weight.
