A few years ago when I got a bit broken in my work career I stumbled on some blogs of travels along the GDMBR and I realised the need for Personal adventure and physical challenge - things that had gone missing as I ran my business and raised young kids . Thinking about the GDMBR was like my happy place . When I sold my business the timing wasn’t quite right (December) so I actually had a great adventure biking from Cape Reinga to Bluff here in NZ and included lots of back country routes well off the beaten track . The GDMBR still acts as a beacon for a future adventure and the map is a great physical reminder of the promise of adventure
