This route compilation includes maps sections 1-6 & 10-11 of the Northern Tier, and the full North Lakes map set along with the Lake Erie Connector. The entire mileage from coast to coast is almost the same as the Northern Tier routing - the only way to shorten the distance by 215 miles is to use the Manitowoc Alternate crossing Lake Michigan.

Adventure Cycling route maps are great. The routes always seem to be the best alternative to get from point A to point B. The motel and campground suggestions are indispensable when planning the next day's destination. I have used many of the ACA cross country routes and have always been pleased with my crossings. This particular set of maps is, I believe, the best route for the Northern Tier crossing. I have used the Bikeline maps while cycle touring Europe. Their format is much more difficult to follow then the ACA maps. By far, The Adventure Cycling Bicycle Route maps are the best in the world!

I am riding my 3rd time across the USA for MS. This time I am using these maps and leaving 7/7/2016. I believe these will be very helpful. The first ride across the USA, Adventure Cycling were nice enough to just give me a route not in maps but directions. This time I value these maps. I think the maps are terrific. When I decided on the route I wanted to take, finding the correct maps was very easy. I have been reading the online journals of cyclists who have taken this same route. By comparing their experiences on the various segments of the trip with the information provided on the maps, I am getting a clearer picture of what to expect on my upcoming trip. The service and follow up have been great.

Currently in the 'planning' stages of our trip so we have not actively used the maps but are studying them in detail. This is the third set of maps we have purchased - Great Divide, ridden in 2009 and Trans Am ridden in 2005 and have no doubt that the route and other detailed information provided on them will be of the same high standard as in the past.

Although I haven't started the trip yet the maps are excellent for my planning and preparation. The detail, names and numbers, detours, descriptions, profiles, etc are invaluable for planning a safe trip.
