Northern Tier Maps--The Bomb

Without ACA maps, I would not be touring across the country. We used the Trans America set in 2015 and didn't miss a turn. Everything we needed was included. I'm old school, and like to use the maps--it gives me a better visual of the route & where I am on it. All I have to do is follow the red lined road on the NT maps, and before I know it, I'll be in Anacortes, WA, by September. I only wish I had a Toto to bring along. Happy & Safe Cycling!

But with one complaint...

A group of us are planning to ride across the country next Summer. This was excellent to make us talk about details. I wish more of the sections have elevation drawings. Only three of eleven do. Failing that, I wish these elevations were available on the website. You can download the GPS data and load it into some other program, but that's pretty involved. Wish the website had them displayed.

A bit out of date

I know maps get out of date fast, but some of the directions are opposite (left should be right, etc.). Many of the places are out of business ... and have been for a long time. I must admit, I'm part of the problem. I should have been sending in correction cards all along the way. Be that as it may, we use these maps knowing that we can't count on places being there and often having to get second opinions on directions. Overall, we are happy to have the maps which complment our tools for making this journey.

I love the maps

I've reviewed them in-depth and I'm feeling very much prepared for the upcoming adventure. I'd highly recommend them at this point and I appreciate the post cards in helping you keep them updated. We'll be sure to send in comments as we find things changed. Thank you very much for taking the time to put together such detailed maps, making our adventures more enjoyable.

Haven't done this tour yet, but other ACA routes, and the information on these maps is a fantastic help, more than any guide books or GPS can offer. For the future I do have one wish/suggestion: The Sierra Cascade Maps show the elevation profile directly underneath the corresponding map section. I'd like to see this feature on all maps, but assume that it's probably too costly to change the sets that have already exist.
